Wichapp® (World Interchange Application)
A platform and social network dedicated to bartering goods and services without using money. Founded in Costa Rica on July 2, 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic by Francisco Gutiérrez Marín, its initial objective was to support the neediest communities through bartering and social collaboration groups created on Facebook.
History and Creation
In the midst of the global crisis caused by the pandemic and experiencing its effects firsthand, Francisco saw the need to offer alternatives so people could obtain essential goods without relying on money. In response, he created barter groups on Facebook, including: Solo Cambios Costa Rica, Solo Trueques Guatemala, and later Solo Trueques México. These groups quickly gained popularity, totaling more than 35,000 members.
They operate on a voluntary basis, promoting solidarity and community support across different countries.
Evolution to Wichapp
After the success of the barter groups and growing interest, Francisco decided to formalize and structure the concept. In January 2024, he partnered with Héctor Hernández from Mexico to develop their own platform with the goal of bringing Wichapp to a global audience. This effort has received support from renowned communication companies, which have joined the project to strengthen its reach and projection.
Currently, Wichapp operates through: Specialized barter groups on Facebook. Its own website: wichapp.net. Mobile apps in development, with trademark registration in Mexico and Costa Rica.

In addition to the groups, Wichapp positions itself as a space where users can interact, swap goods and services, and form a self-sufficient community.

Since its inception, Wichapp has been recognized for its social impact, especially in times of crisis. With the recent expansion to its own technological platform and the support of important strategic partners, Wichapp is emerging as a global leader in alternative and sustainable commerce.
